All of my bridesmaids are very different. In style, size, personality and financially. How do I go about finding one dress that fits all five? A dress they will all maybe wear more than once. And shoes, one bridesmaid is a foot shorter that than the tallest.

–Ashley, Hartford, CT

It is possible to find the same bridesmaid’s dress that comes in different skirt lengths, sleeve lengths, and sizes all in the same style and color. David’s Bridal specializes in bridesmaid’s dresses that offers companion dresses where you can have the top one size and the skirt another. Take a look for yourself. While you’re at is, also try J.Crew for bridesmaid dresses when looking for a particular silhouette, such as one shoulder, illusion, short sleeve or long.

For your bridesmaid gift, give them all the same small clutch bag.  When you want your bridesmaids to have the same shoe, go to J.Crew to pick out a shoe and suggest they buy the same shoe in the height of their choice.

Nowadays, you can be creative and have all your bridesmaids wear a dress of their own choosing, or have them wear their own ‘perfect’ dress in the color and length of your choice. Keeping to a neutral palette, as in the image to the right of your question, will show continuity in color but individuality in style,  or you can step it up and be totally modern with all your bridesmaids doing their own thing, as in the image below — you’re looking to be really cool.
