My husband and I will be attending a traditional Indian (Asian) wedding in Naples, FL, at the end of February. The ceremony is at 3 pm and the dress code calls for Indian or American Formal. Reception is at 6 pm and the dress code calls for Black Tie. My husband’s dress code is easy: suit for ceremony and tuxedo for reception. I plan to wear a long dress in the evening but I’m unsure about the ceremony. It will be knee length but how dressy?

For the formal three o’clock ceremony, wear a special occasion jacket with a knee-length skirt. Since you’re wearing a long dress for the evening reception, why not choose a beautifully tailored silk jacket as your style statement.
To illustrate the kind of jacket we think looks stunning at an afternoon wedding ceremony, look at Maria Pucci’s special occasion designs at maria-pucci.com.
The Maria Pucci jacket illustrated here is called ‘Charleston Jacket, Elegant Brocade.’ It is a staple of women’s formal wear in the South year-round and worn in the North during the summer. Quite versatile, it goes nicely with any color skirt or slacks. Also, really lovely is ‘Charleston Jacket, Elegant Peach.’
The collection also features longer jackets, coats, and tunics. In choosing a special occasion jacket, the taller you are, the longer the jacket.
